On the morning of June 24th, the 2023 National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Beijing, and a total of 250 projects were selected. Among them, there are 49 the State Natural Science Award, one first prize and 48 second prizes; There are 62 the State Technological Innovation Award, 8 first prizes and 54 second prizes; 139 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 3 Special Awards, 16 First Prizes, and 120 Second Prizes. Academician Li Deren from Wuhan University and Academician Xue Qikun from Tsinghua University have been awarded the highest national science and technology award. The International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China is awarded to 10 individuals.
The coal industry has won three awards, among which the "Transparent Analysis and Application of Rock Stress Field in Deep Energy Development" project won the first prize of the National Technology Invention Award, and the "Innovation and Application of Underground Engineering Safety and Precision Blasting Technology" and "Complete Technology and Engineering Application of Deep Coal Digitalization and Efficient Mining" projects won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
