The Anhui Provincial Energy Administration held a meeting on ensuring the supply of electricity and coal for the peak summer season in 2024.

        On June 4th, the Anhui Provincial Energy Administration convened a video conference on ensuring the supply of electricity and coal for the peak summer season in 2024 in Hefei. Comrade Wang Zhenyu, Deputy Director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Director of the Provincial Energy Administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, during which representatives from relevant enterprises also spoke.

        Wang Zhenyu pointed out that since the beginning of this year, Anhui Province has exceeded the national targets for the signing and fulfillment rates of medium- to long-term coal contracts. The coal inventory at power plants has reached its highest level in history, ensuring a stable coal supply and laying a solid foundation for coping with the peak summer season. Wang Zhenyu emphasized several key points: firstly, ensuring stable coal production and supply within the province, strictly enforcing coal mine safety production, ensuring stable coal production, increasing the fulfillment of medium- to long-term contracts, and preparing emergency reserves. Secondly, enhancing the capacity of major electricity coal suppliers, increasing coal procurement efforts by power plants, and firmly maintaining the bottom line of coal inventory. Thirdly, optimizing the coordination of coal transportation, striving for orderly coal transportation within and outside the province. Fourthly, implementing measures to ensure electricity supply, strengthening the operation and management of generating units, accelerating the commissioning of new units on schedule, and ensuring peak power output during the summer. Finally, Wang Zhenyu emphasized the further strengthening of coal mine safety production and conveyed the spirit of recent remarks by Zhang Ruiting, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, during his visit to Anhui.

        The meeting was attended by responsible personnel from 4 key coal enterprise groups, 6 key power enterprise groups, 39 coal mines, and 32 major power plants within the province, as well as representatives from Hui Commerce Group, Provincial Port and Shipping Group, State Grid Anhui Power Company, and Shanghai Railway Bureau Hefei Railway Office. Officials in charge and relevant departments of the Provincial Energy Administration also participated in the meeting.
